Safeguarding
Todmorden Orchestra believes that a child, young person or vulnerable adult should never experience abuse of any kind. We understand that we have a responsibility to promote the welfare of all and to keep them safe. We are committed to practicing in a way that protects them.
Our Safeguarding policy and guidance is written for those occasions when children or young people play with the orchestra. For the purposes of this policy and guidance, a child is anyone who has not yet reached statutory school leaving age, and a young person is between statutory school leaving age and 18 years. It is not designed to provide advice concerning children, young people and vulnerable adults attending our concerts
The policy aims to:
- Protect children, young people and vulnerable adults who perform with Todmorden Orchestra, including the children of adults who are involved with the orchestra.
- Raise awareness among members about the appropriate ways to act and behave in relation to these groups, and how to report a safeguarding concern.
- Create a safe environment in which everyone can feel comfortable and secure while engaged in a rehearsal, concert or associated activity officially arranged by the orchestra.
