We’re seeking a new Leader

Todmorden Orchestra is looking for a violinist to join as Leader from September 2025, to work collaboratively with our conductor, Nick Concannon Hodges, and with our players.

If you’re a talented and enthusiastic musician and a strong team player, we’d love to hear from you. This position would suit someone with proven Leader experience, or someone who feels they are ready to step into a leader’s position for the first time.

Key details:
– Position starts September 2025 (with a trial period of one concert)
– Weekly Tuesday evening rehearsals, 7:30-9:30pm
– Up to six concerts a year at Todmorden Town Hall
– Experience with amateur orchestras beneficial but not essential
– Regular attendance is expected

Todmorden is within an hour’s travel time of Manchester, Preston, Leeds, Bradford and Huddersfield. Our concerts at Todmorden Town Hall attract a large and loyal following.

What happens next?
– Applications close on 31 March 2025
– Auditions for shortlisted candidates will be held in May 2025.
– We may also invite applicants to lead a single rehearsal on a trial basis
