We’re looking for a new Leader

Todmorden Orchestra is looking for a new Leader.

**update – recruitment has now closed**

We are looking for an experienced violinist with a high standard of playing, and who could, if required, take a string sectional rehearsal. The successful applicant will be familiar with a wide range of classical orchestral music, and able to establish a good working relationship with players. The Leader will also advise strings on technical issues / bowing and play solos as required by the programme.

Based in Todmorden, and performing in Todmorden Town Hall, we play six concerts a year, four of which are orchestral, and two which are with Todmorden Choral Society.

We have a professional conductor, Nicholas Concannon Hodges, whose ambitious and innovative programmes have both inspired the orchestra and attract regular large and loyal audiences.

We are currently playing in smaller groups in a Covid-secure venue and will resume full rehearsals and performances once it is safe to do so.

Rehearsals are on Tuesday evenings, 7.30 – 9.30pm, in Todmorden town centre, and we would expect a commitment to attend regularly.

If you wish to apply please email the Secretary, Jennifer Moorhouse, on jennifermoorhouse@hotmail.com, including details of previous experience.

For further information please email or telephone 07768 298928.

The closing date is 30 November 2020.
